When most people think about New York, they think of Manhattan, but I am from a small village outside of NYC called Hastings-on-Hudson. As a two-sport athlete (basketball and football), I developed a passion for challenging myself and prioritizing personal growth. This was the driving force behind my decision to attend Hobart College, as they provided an intimate academic environment and focused on professional development.

Balancing academics and athletics was a fulfilling challenge and, in my junior year, I was presented with the opportunity to play professional football. There was no way I could turn that down, so I leaned heavily into accomplishing that goal. In 2015, I was drafted by The Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round, which coming from a small school was an uphill battle. While playing, I realized how much our internal world shapes our reality. As I dove deeper into my own path of self-discovery, I wanted to be able to encourage and support others as they go through their journeys. During my tenure playing for the Buccaneers, I volunteered in after-school programs with Metropolitan Ministries and worked as an intervention specialist with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.

These experiences were the driving force behind my pursuit of a PsyD in Clinical Psychology at National Louis University. I am passionate about making mental health resources more accessible to the community and supporting the needs of athletes. Most importantly, I want to help people work through the debilitating effects of anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse to live their most authentic lives.

When I am not juggling the chaos of graduate school, I enjoy fitness, playing the ukulele, and taking long walks with my dog in my spare time.

Warm regards,
Ali
