Counseling Services
Counseling, or psychotherapy, is a collaborative, non-judgmental, and holistic approach to addressing mild to severe mental health concerns. As a holistic approach, we look at the whole person addressing emotional, mental, physical, social, financial, and spiritual wellness. Our therapists seek to provide culturally informed service for people from diverse backgrounds and are a safe-space for the LGBTQIA community.
Each therapist offers Individual Counseling and has their own approach to treatment through a trauma-informed care perspective. Therapists may use a variety of techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused or Brief Therapy. The intention of counseling is to reduce symptoms, increase ability to navigate difficult life circumstances, process trauma grief or chronic pain and illnesses. Counseling can be short-term (6-10 weeks) to long-term (2-3 years) depending on the complexity of your individualized treatment plan. At the end of counseling, you will have an increased awareness of how you feel, why you think or behave in certain ways, and how to make changes.

Child and Adolescent Counseling
Children and adolescents have unique experiences in the world given all of the forces around them and the newness of the world itself. It is an important time in life and how we learn to navigate the world during this stage of development can have a lasting impact on our experiences as adults. Since many situations can be unfamiliar and uncomfortable during this developmental time, children and adolescents can find it challenging to express what they are feeling. This can result in relationship and communication challenges with peers and family, problems in school, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-injury or self-harm behaviors, and behavioral concerns.
Counseling is a great opportunity for them to have a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore and understand what is happening for them and empower them to find a way towards a solution. For many children and adolescents, it can be beneficial to talk with therapists in a safe environment that is removed from their social circle to provide guidance on confusing and difficult situations they may face. Additionally, some of the work with children and adolescents involves working with parents, caregivers, and families in Family Therapy.

Couples and Marriage Counseling
At times, it can be beneficial to have a non-biased, third party to discuss and explore areas of concern in your relationships. Couples Counseling or Marriage Counseling is useful to address concerns with roommates, friends, romantic partners, co-habitation and co-parenting.
Couples Counseling can ensure you and your partner are on the same page in terms of values, expectations, and roles.
After you have already "jumped the broom," Marriage Counseling can be useful in exploring the current and potential pitfalls in your relationship whether you and your partner have been together for a few months or several years.
